This is the sentiment I brought with me after graduating from Carleton University's School of Journalism and Communication and starting my career as a writer.

After working professionally in program coordination, social media, and marketing while completing my degree, I was prepared to jump into pursuing my long-time dream.

This dream came to fruition in working with amazing publications, such as [EDIT] Media and Flanelle Magazine. Through working as a writer and editor I was able to gain experience in every aspect of the publishing industry and solidify my passion.

After deciding to make a cross-country move a new opportunity came my way – to work at Narcity Media. Working at one of Canada’s leading independent media companies I gained new insight into the world of digital media. I honed my skills in editing, SEO optimization, cross-platform journalism and leadership at this company and quickly moved up within the ranks.

Best of all, I was able to strike the balance of creating meaningful work that was consumable for audiences and profitable for the business.
